100W cooper MH recessed square
These have spring clips which sometimes let go and it hangs down like this
These are terrible for collecting bugs. We cleaned them October-December on every store we visited, also the plastic washer that holds the spring breaks off so I use a flat pan head screw to fix it
This store uses F96T8/XL/SPX41/WMP 54W and F32T8/25W/SPX41 lamps

Nice! I like those drop dish recessed square lights. nice that they kept the lamps 8ft too instead of going all 4ft.

Were those lights T12 slimline originally?

I don't think so, all the stores I've been in have never been T12s, I suspect they remodeled in the 90s and replaced the fixtures, few stores are that old so most of them were T8 from the start I believe

Yeah in the 90s they probably were already installing T8s in new commercial buildings.

Nice! It seems HID recessed sqaures are getting rare now. Over here, in the 90s new buildings were still a mix of T12 and T8. In fact I've seen some places built as late as 2000 with a T12 system. It seems the earlier T8 systems tended to be magnetic too.
