I find the 5000K LEDs to be of some use in some situations, usually in task lighting .
And speaking of LEDs in trains, the TTC has some T1 subway trains that have LED tubes retrofitted in them now. Not a big fan of them since they only shine straight down instead of also shining on the ceiling (which makes the car seem brighter) like the old F72T12s did.
Reveal LEDs are not 5,000K temperature color. They are very similar to the incandecent and CFL Reveals which are actully warmer than 3,000K. The Reveal LEDs simulate the light you get from an incandescent with neodymium glass - similar but not identical. The CFL actually gets closer to that than the LED. These are quite heavy, have the usual LED unidirectional light problem as with most LEDs, and may not be suitable for some table lamps or other fixtures. I bought one but was not so thrilled with it that it had to go into something. It sits in my collection.
