I've never heard of this brand before but the ballast looks like it might be a rebranded Venture.

It's "Souhegan" which is still a weird name lol. I've never heard of the name but a quick google search and they marker lighting products but don't make them. BTW, why do a lot of ballasts have a backwards LR on them?

I'm betting if you peel off the label you'll find a Venture label underneath it. I have several ballasts that were rebrands, a Lumi-Kon F4T5 ballast which was just a Advance F4T5 ballast and a Ardco SRS ballast which was a relabeled Knobel SRS ballast for European lamps.

I'm guessing you're talking about this: symbol eh? That's a UL Listed Component symbol which means that they aren't listed for use on their own and must be used as part of a product to be UL Listed. (IE the ballast isn't listed for use by itself, but can be used to build a fixture which is listed for use by itself).

yep that's the logo i was talking about. interesting information!

Oddly enough only the core and coil HID ballasts seem to have this logo. The F-Can ones have the regular UL Listed Ballast on the label.

Here's where I got the info from BTW. In Canada they also have the CSA mark on some products.

yeah fluorescent ballasts have the regular UL listing too.
