nice retro fit but a 50W MH lamp runs at 90V 0.8A a 50W mercury lamp 95V 0.6A it wood be best to run a 80W or 75W mercury lamp off this ballast for 50W mercs get a 35W MH ballast for best resolts
my M-250R1 has a plastic socket and it's HPS so the igniter pulse wouldn't harm it. The igniter pulse is very quick and breif. I think pulse rated sockets are more so the push of the pulse doesn't loosen the lamp over time.
Yeah, I used to run low wattage HPS and MH lamps all the time using regular ceramic sockets instead of the pulse rated ones. Looks like I'll have to get my hands on a 50w MH core and coil ballast then. I have a 50w MH recessed light but it uses a F-Can ballast so I can't disable the built in ignitor.
if it draws 0.7A from 120V mains then thats difrent its saying how meny amps it draws from the mains not how much how much it puts in to the lamp (most US ballasts i have seen are labeled like this like .8A 2 lamp F40 ballasts etc) but if it indecats that it puts .7A in to the lamp then i gess u can get away with it (my 175W US mercury HX ballast makes no indecation of lamp current)
MIke, I've seen a place with highbays mounted on something like a 9' ceiling , pics to come when I get home.
