I think the 70s since this was supposed to complement my M-250R1 but could be 70s or 80s from the etch. The code could be 3rd quarter of 1978 or something...

No R next to the wattage and the bas has the round rather than wedge shaped insulating glass.

Yeah, it's actually not blackened at all (well, slightly, but it's like-new brightness wise) Smile I think you're just seeing a shadow on the glass.
