Found these thermal ALR PCs at Restore recently. They're old stock from 2003. One of the connections from the CDS cell seems to have gotten detached when I opened one of them up. I'll have to solder that back on.
Ah some of ALRs finest. These are pretty cool. They're smaller than normal PCs but still taller than those short clear ones and well, they're not clear lol. I have two of these, one ALR and one Sears brand. The Sears one is from the late 80s and the ALR from early 90s. I don't care for thermal PCs in general but I have no complaints about them. They have glued-in windows like the 80s Fisher Pierce PCs.
Yeah, they still have that traditional PC look but you can tell that they were moving to the short clear design. Thermal PCs also aren't really my thing, but since I didn't have any with the normal style case I grabbed these.
