Bottom of the 1968 M-400
|
Here's the underside of the M-400. With the steel wool, the black soot stuff came off the bottom of the door with only a little elbow grease. You can see a little blackening remains around the GE monogram, since the steel wool doesn't get in the nooks and crannies easily. The part under the glass where the drip holes are is permanent. I started scrubbing down to bare aluminum so I left it alone lol. Same for near the hinge. Cleaned up good though for 49 years old though! I love the super-deep glass lens on this. It seems slightly deeper than the glass on my M-400A2, which does have the "deep" glass. My M-400 has the shallow glass, which is triangular shaped from the front, similar to the deep M-250 glass.
