Lightolier CMH Track Lights
|
Restore find, scored these guys for $3 each. Unlike my other CMH track lights, these use bi-pin CMH lamps instead of PAR 20 lamps.
Lamps are Sylvania 3000K 39w CMH lamps. Had to be careful not to touch the glass when pulling them out (I assume they have a quartz outer bulb like halogens). To change the lamp in these you have to loosen the two thumbscrews holding the front and the glass in, and then you have to remove the reflector which is held in by two smaller thumbscrews.
Ballasts are Vossloh-Schabwe electronic ballasts. They strike the lamp about a 1/2 second after being plugged in. Click here for the spec sheet.

Stop and Shop has the square ones that Mike mentioned they are very glarey and but they are bright
I also see halogen PAR tracklights with either LEDs or SBCMH lamps fitted too.
Currently in terms of bulbs I have:
2x 3000K G8.5 lightly used, currently in the fixtures right now
1x 3000K G13 bought new, has been used 3-4 hours per day for around half a year.
1x 4000K G13 bought new, has some slight use.
Ideally I would like to get at two sets of spares for all three types but at $25 a pop, I probably only get a spare for the ones I use often. Unless I see a bunch of NIB ones at Restore that is lol.
Currently, I have about a dozen NOS 100W /DX ED23.5 MVs and a case of 6 NOS 175W/DX MVs (as well as about a dozen used "expendable" 175W MVs in various brightnesses). I have about 8 or 9 400W MV lamps, all decently bright but many of those are rare/vintage so I shouldn't count those.
I have like half a dozen each of NOS 50, 100, 150, and 250W HPS lamps and have a few NOS 400W HPS and a couple NOS 70W HPS. I have several used HPS lamps too, including one 200W HPS Alto. Also have a bunch of 100 and 150W HPS medium base lamps that I'm trying to get rid of lol. The 100W HPS flood on my house takes medium base lamps but I'll probably only ever need one spare lamp for it as most. Don't have any medium base 150W HPS fixtures.
Not much in the way of MH. Three NOS 175W Sylvanias, one NOS and one used 250W Sylvania, a used Sylvania 400W MH, and a couple medium base PSMH lamps in 50, 70, and 100W.
