Here's a cool artistic shot of the inside of the fixture. The connections were originally made with tape (the modern plastic tape). I replaced them with more appropriate Marrette 31 150°C rated wirenuts. I also added a 2-prong cord and a 4040 connector.
And it's srping! So I took the pic under the sun. ^__^

Nah, I just like taking photos LOL. I also like pics with cool angle or something else special LOL.
Another reason, 3 prong cords are bigger size and when rolled around the fixture they make the fixture larger at that point, which causes some problems when it comes to storing the fixtures. However ALL my 3ft and longer fluorescent fixtures use 3-prong cords.
