Back in 1985, National Grid (then known as Niagara Mohawk) did a lighting upgrade on Cumberland Ave. in my neighborhood from 6.6A series incandescent post tops to 100 watt HPS Crouse-Hinds OV-15s on 25 foot X 6 foot one piece davit poles. In 1999, they upped the wattage to 150 watt HPS Cooper OVZs.
My area for residential area seems to be mostly 100 and 150 watt....but I have seen neighborhoods usually with higher crime that has 250 watt and even 400 watt!
in PEPCO the lowest is 70 while in BGE its 100 for HPS
Here, our lowest wattage is 50w. National Grid doesn't install or service 70, 150, or 200w HPS fixtures. We only have 50, 100, 250, and 400w HPS fixtures installed here. 100 watters are by far the most common.
