I'd love to see 70W and 100W PSMH street lights start popping up instead of 50 and 100W HPS. And 250 and 400W PSMH instead of HPS too, especially in downtown areas.
400W PSMH would be bright! 250W PSMH would be a good amount of light or even 320W. I'd like to climb the pole in front of my house and install a 100W PSMH ballast in the M-250R2 and put a round red sticket on the door (a round red sticker means that the light is privatly owned but serviced by NGrid)
Down in Charleston, South Carolina, they use 100 watt PSMH 115 Series full cutoff street lights as spot replacements for defective 175 watt mercury vapor street lights.
The only MH on public roads (was) in downtown providence in state owned lights (which is only the post tops). any NGrid owned lights (cobraheads, floods, etc) are HPS.
After 4 years 3 months, the lamp in this fixture stopped working yesterday. It was rated for 15,000 hours so about right on. Not bad for a no-name bulb, I must say! It's been working faithfully every night since it was installed over 4 years ago.
