General Electric Chroma 50 40T12 (pre-1992 version)
I've always wanted a C50, but this is especially cool with the old etch!
Well used, and after sitting under a building for years it had a hard time firing up on an Advance .77 amp HPF rapid start ballast but was then otherwise fine (obviously lit).
Even though I dislike them I think it would be cool if a 34w one existed (same for BLB, colored florescents, grow-lux, etc.). Imagine a BLB with those classic 34w striations!

Like black metball etch? Or EcoLux?
Did C50 make it past the latest CRI/efficiency standards?
BTW I learned on LG (I post the same pics there too) that this one was made in July of 1989 at their Buycres, Ohio factory...so older than I thought (although being pre-'92 it figures). Seems my lamps are always older than I think they are!

I've still got this lamp, but I think it is about done, or at least its identical mate found elsewhere shortly after I posted this one is. Getting to that point it won't reliably start on rapid start...
