Na' I need to save my money for my building, After that I will have the R1,M250A and both the M400A2 and R2 powder coated and restored nice. But for now I'm thinking of just keeping the M2RR 70 watt in service but on a new pole after my building is up. I really like it and it lights my yard perfectly. I may also put it on a 30" bracket and face it towards the building That would look cool. Plus I wouldn't have to rely on a bucket truck for any reason. It might be a hassle to get one if I needed it. so yea things are looking in favor of the M250R2 for now. Hey do you need a M250A2 shell.
How would the M-250R1 or model 13 cost more than the M-250R2? You already have all three in your collection. Yeah the M-250R2 is nice. I'd like to get one someday but I'll try to find one locally since they're EVERYWHERE here. Would be super cool if I could get one on my street! Especially the cool 1992/1993 flat door M-250R2 on the corner down the street (50W HPS).
I personally think the M-250R1 would look awesome with that FP polycarbonate lens you got and the blue touch-and-glow PC. BTW, have you thought of sticking the formed plastics lens in the M-250R2? The one in front of my house has one (but acrylic, not polycarbonate) and it looks more like an older GE with it IMO. Still has the look of the M-250R2 but a different look too. Here's one with a FP lens. Also, the M-2502 with a Lexalite/AEL refractor is an interesting look too.
Well because I would have them Powder coated and fixed up before I installed them that's where the cost comes in. yea I think the M250R2 is a neat little fixture.
Yeah the square lens does give it character. We have SOOO many of them here lol. I find the round GE lens/FP lens to be the universal GE lens lol. Looks good on the M-250R, M-250R1, M-250A, M-250R2, and even M-250A2. Pretty much every small GE cobrahead ever made lol. The M-250A in my bedroom has a round FP lens right now.
