Yea the last big areas of Truss lights left are 401 between Dixie and Renforth, Gardiner between Kipling and Royal York, QEW at the between burlington street and the 403, and Hurontario to 427. Thats pretty much the last big areas of truss lighting here left
Parts of the Conestoga Expressway in Kitchener-Waterloo, Burlington Street in Hamilton and the EC Row Expressway in Windsor also still have a good number truss lights.
The 401 east exit to Brimley, and the MTO yard at Kennedy/401 still have truss lights to. Both the 427 and 409 had a lot of truss lights before 2009. The 427 still has a small amount of truss lights left...around where it meets the 409.
I remember the 427 between Q.E.W. and 401 had amazing truss lights they had so many different cobraheads there and the last B2213's were there until they removed all the truss lights
Yeah, I wish I could have gotten some pics of the truss lights on the 427 before they took them down. IIRC they were disconnected in 2006 or so but stayed up until 2008. The ones over the southbound lanes were removed in the summer of 2008 while the northbound ones stayed until spring 2009.
A year ago eating at a jack astors restaurant, I recall a hilarious painting hanging from the ceiling and it was a silhouette of a freeway lined with trusslights and highmasts as a normal sighting!
More and more of these here are being switched to tapered e arms looking from the top of the bridge. Since its beside the airport they can't swtich to highmasts. There is also now a tapered e arm with two AE 125's in the gap in on the right side of the photo
