Added a ignitor disable switch so I could run both 100w MV and 70w PSMH lamps in my R47 without rewiring the ballast. The 100W MV setting disables the ignitor while the 70w PSMH setting enables the ignitor.
Thanks it disconnects the ignitor neutral (X2) from the ballast. These were the instructions on how to disable an ignitor I found on Eye lighting's web site.
@Vince Thanks! After some quick tests it looks like disconnecting the neutral disables the ignitor, a MH won't start.
@Mike and Aaron yep I did make the bracket myself it's from those aluminium strips you get at the hardware store, and the switch is one of those 120v toggle switches.
Cool. Since I'm guessing you made those " 100w MV" and "70w PSMH" tags, maybe you could use your skills to come up with Sylvania Powerlite tags for the ballast and cap.
I like it!! I was going to do this a while back on my AE-13 from Jace but never got around to it. It has a 100w MH ballast just wired for MV right now.
A 100w PSMH ballast will overdrive a 100w MV slightly...like many 100w MV ballasts do as well. I've actually run one for 3 years everyday at work on a 100w GE MV lamp and has only normal wear. The 70w PSMH will underdrive the MV slightly...90-95 watts depending on the ballast tolerance. I would guess that slightly underdriving is better than slightly overdriving though.
That's not the edge of the housing, the actual edge can be seen here I framed it out of the shot when taking the pic to highlight the subject of this shot.
BTW the door operates freely and is not obstructed.

And thanks Jace.
