Its about time they added LED replacement bulbs. I have a set of LED C7's. All the blues on my strand keep burning out and have been needing replacements. lol
Yeah I agree, got these at Canadian Tire. I rather install these into an existing 25ft light string instead of buying the shorter 16ft 7" LED light strings. NOMA also has C7 LED retrofit bulbs too.
Nice! I'm personally not a fan of LED Christmas lights since they have a "cold" appeerance. Incandescents have a warmer look to them. LEDs are good for Halloween lights, where a "colder" eerie look is more desirable. The flicker is another turn-off for me, downright irritating! They do offer some serious energy savings though! We use all incandescent "mini lights". Probably a dozen or so 100ft strings. I've never counted. Our sets typically have 100, 150, or 200 lights per set. We end up buying a couple lets every few years, either just adding more lights or replacing half-dead ones. I try to get them working if they don't work but after a while of messing with them I just give up and we buy a new set lol. I spot-replace dead lamps though, since we always have a bunch of dead lamps every year. I'm thinking the same ones probably keep dying since the voltage ratings probably don't match up but the mini lamps aren't marked with a voltage rating so I just grab a random one out of the bag and attach it to the plastic base of the dead lamp lol.
Thanks and Merry Christmas Mike! Yes true some of the LED have a cold appearance, I'm seeing more with a warmer white available instead of just the cool white. A lot of older LED sets have the flicker "side blur" lol, newer sets are improved without the flicker. I find the best results with incandescent mini light sets of 100,150 and 200 are 2.5 or 3 volt replacement lamps.
Merry Christmas to you too Darren! Ah newer LED sets are more improved? I've seen LED minis and they just don't have that same soothing look to them, but I'm sure they save money, though the sets still seem a little pricey. I don't know what voltage replacement lamps I have though lol. I had a half-dead set so I just pulled all the lamps and stuck them in a bag lol. I did that with a couple different sets. That way I have replacement lamps for the rest of the sets.
I don't think they sell replacement lamps for the mini-light sets. They typically come with a few spare lamps but I've never seen packs of replacements for sale.
Oh I didn't realize you couldn't buy packs of mini-light replacement lamps there. Here they sell them in packs of five of assorted coloured lamps, or a selection of packs of all one colour in various voltages.
