Thanks Joe! I think the 120V models 6600's were silver or grey variation from the late 50's into the mid 60's and the 120/240V Duo-Volt 6690's dark blue, the 6650 120V with lower 500W rating were dark red/maroon,that was before the red identified PC's as being 208-277V @ Mike I'm not sure the exact reason why they were darker, probably to identify easier and it could be that they have white printing on the top and it makes it stand out more.
BTW, I just noticed that I have the same PC! Mine is used and the housing is full of cracks, so I can never use it outside again, but it still works! It's not that sensitive, but the fact that it works after all these years is really cool!
I guess the paint on mine has faded. I like the lighter blue better personally but wow! My PC looked like yours above when it was new? Never would have though that lol. The cover is screwed on but the cover is also glued on in addition to the screws (at least mine is) or else I would have opened mine up and tried to fill in some of the cracks and move the eye shield to make it more sensitive.

I've got a few of these but the smaller model.
@ Mike: That is close too, yours being only a month older! Yes decades more usage lol.
