[Gone] Powerlite B2215
|
Here's a old Powerlite light that looks like a bigger version of the B2217. There is only a few of these still lighting a street here in Ontario but some older parking lots still have MV ones in use.
This one is on Hwy. 85 in Waterloo which still for the most part resembles how a urban freeway in Ontario looked back in the 70s.
There used to be be a lot of these along with its bigger brother, the B2213 on Hwy. 401 but they were all wiped out by HPS cobras and highmast lighting in the early 90s.
Here's a pic of some of these on the 401 in 1967:
Thanks to Dave for telling me the model # of this.

@Form109 yeah they do look like a M-400, I used to think that they were M-400s before I knew what they were. I think one might be a Powerlite instead of Sylvania one though.
BTW Darren, in case you haven't seen, that boxy 2 door cobrahead has been identified as the Skyline Skylight.
This is the B2217
This is the B2215
And this is the B2213
(for reference)
This is the B2227 (later known as the R37)
And this is the B2255
EDIT: Can't get it to link the CSA page for some odd reason, so Click here and click on the CSA link (2nd link) on the post to see the listings.
Now they use 8' tapered e arms or highmast lights.
