our Interstate Arms are Are Around 15 Feet....in some areas of Waco the older Interstate Arms are Shorter Bottom Braced Upsweeps and Double Guy Wire Masts.
Our highway arms are around 8 feet for the aluminum tapered Es and 6 and 9 feet for the older steel truss arms. I've seen longer arms here on other roads but none as long as this one.
I could try to measure this thing with my special type of ruler....
I used a special scaling type of ruler...this thing is DEF 40 feet...this probably WON as the LONGEST arm in this gallery...and probably EVER! congrats!
Thanks Jace, I don't understand the point of these arms though, if you look at the street view they mounted the poles 40 feet back from the road, unless they wanted to put them in the "clear zone" so they didn't need to use breakaway bases. Yeah I guess it does look a bit like a traffic signal mast arm (much longer than the ones here though, ours are at most 22 feet long)
They need to start using arms this length at a lot of intersections here
There is a number of intersections where the light only reaches the corners and crosswalks and nothing out to the middle of the intersection.
@joe_347V this was in Michigan
