A GE 400A!
Very rare here! This is just across the street from my Dad's house and I [i] think [/i] it is 400 watt HPS just from the brightness (there is no tag) I hope to get this very fixture someday, as road work is slated to be done within the next few years.

Nice. The M-400A is very rare here too. It's look-a-like the M-400 is common as dirt here.

test test

I'm not sure that I know of any others here in my city, I know there are lots in Toronto though! @ Jace what exactly are you testing?
joe_347V   [Sep 10, 2011 at 04:41 PM]
He's testing the comments, there was an issue with them earlier today.

Nice find, M-400As are pretty rare in Ontario, I only know of a few of them.

Ah that explains it (I didn't notice though)

I was fixing something....the problem when comment field doesn't appear after an album is edited or a new album is made...

It should be solved now...

Okay

M-400A's are everywhere in my area. Smile

I know where this is its up the road from me its a nice one I think its the only one we have in Brampton. I like that one and the westinghouses beside it
streetlight98   [Aug 21, 2013 at 06:11 PM]
are they still doing road work or are they done? do you think this light is in the clear?
Hanging Light   [Aug 22, 2013 at 02:45 AM]
The road work thats happening right now is way down at the other end (the photo with the construction and model 25) As long as it doesn''t burn out or someone calls it in I guess so. It is still there i was worried when a bunch of 115's were moving into that area recently. The only other things that have changed there are the ped signals those durasigs are gone, and Fortran countdown timers are there now. There has been news about work starting at bovaird which is up a bit from there and I think a few of those powerlites are coming down. The GE-400A is far enough away from there to not come down from that project Cool

ahh that's good. The way Niall mentioned the construction i thought this guy was doomed. These beasts are heavy too! the early HPS ballasts were monsters and the fixtures could weigh up to 50 pounds! I think the early 1000W HPS fixtures were over 100 pounds! Shocked Man have ballasts gotten smaller. Just imagine all the ballast losses on a 70 pound 1000W HPS ballast from the 70s. 0_0

Ahh good to know the M-400A is still up. I don't think York Region has them. Razz
gailgrove   [Aug 23, 2013 at 08:07 PM]
Yep this light is still up. There will eventually be roadwork done here (widening the road) but I think it's still going to be awhile, typical government projects. Rolling Eyes
streetlight98   [Aug 23, 2013 at 09:22 PM]
Ahh sounds like the RIDOT projects that go on here lol. they announce projects long before they start them and when they finally do start, they seem to lag on forever lol.
gailgrove   [Aug 23, 2013 at 10:13 PM]
Yep, pretty much the same here.
joe_347V   [Aug 24, 2013 at 12:37 AM]
They sometimes argue about the project a for a few years before any work starts and finally when the work actually starts it always lags on. Rolling Eyes

Always the case here except for the widening between Clark and Queen that was almost instant back in 2005
