Oh well, it had to happen.
This is one of the radial waves on La Loma Rd between S. Grand Ave and S. Arroyo Blvd in Pasadena that had been rewired to a 120 volt multiple circuit and fitted with a compact fluorescent bulb. 

Notice the photo-sensor attached to one of the wires with electrical tape.

LOL the way they wired that photocell is beyond unsafe and won't last through too many rainstorms but this is better than seeing LED lights go up.

Yeah, personally I would have wired up a remote PC instead. But at least they used a fuse. Laughing

Interesting "retrofit" - I'm surprised that a streetlight would be wired up that way and use a cheap spiral CFL. I would rather see a halogen lamp in there. But at least they kept the light! That area is full of old beauties.
