here is a nice Atlas tube some time back, has some nice banding as well, works a charm. Seen running in my 125W Thorn popular pack from 1973 and yes this is pre heat :)
i think this GOLs frist UK 125W 8ft tube
yea one intresting thing about these 8fts there olso 94inches long just like a a 8ft slim line ho or vho lamp that meens u cood get a silvaner 8ft HO lamp pop off the rdc thingys that go over the bi pin cap and put it in place of a 125W tube i think the resen its 94inch even tho its bipin is that befor 8fts were bi pin they had bayonet caps but then a littel later they had RDC caps so they must of been 94inches and wen they moved away from rdc (it dident last long) and went to bi pin they kept it 94inches (UK 6fts are olso like that 70inch insted of 72 altho they were bi pin from the start)
Has anyone successfully run a F96T12 HO on preheat, I'd imagine it's possible if you use something with a similar current and voltage like say a 100/125w mercury ballast.
On the older RDC lamps, they had real RDC endcaps but they switched to those RDC adapters in more recent lamps.
yup xmaslighting guy has ran a 110W HO on a 125W bi pin tube gear set and crazy lamp has run one on a 100W CWA mercury ballast in PH (100W mercury ballast is the best as those olso run at 800Ma)
On the older RDC lamps, they had real RDC endcaps but they switched to those RDC adapters in more recent lamps.
