Side view showing the mounting arm attached to the NEMA. I like this NEMA head a lot. Probably more than the AEL NEMA i used to have. It came with a G.E. lamp, a FP OLC, Sun-Tech photocontrol, supply wire, and a mounting arm.
Other older M-250R2s aren't like that. Even ones installed a few years ago didn't have lenses that thin. It could possibly be that the lenses around here are dirty though...
@ mike, you can see the lamp in the older M-250R2's refractor. I will admit they show more in the newer ones but they are visible from the ground on the older fixtures. I also looked at my 1989 fixture and they lamp was visible.
The only one I've had is the FP acrylic refractor that was on the door that Ifound on the ground. NGrid uses those as replacements for all lights. they're very thick and are strong too. Even though the light in front of my house was new, it was installed with a round lens, which I find odd. It's either a poly lens or the actrylic refractor that was origional may have broken during shipping. i occasionally see new M-250R2s installed with FP lenses here.
This light does look like it is very well built. The reflector felt like it had been wiped down with oil when i took it out of the box. I wiped it off though. It might just be from how they manufacture it. Maybe they put oil on the aluminum before it goes into the press that forms it into the shape of a reflector?
That bracket looks to be alluminum did they switch from steel recently? The one I have is 175 watt merc from 2008 and it has a galvanized steel bracket.
Hmm. I don't know. This is one of the stock models. Maybe this model comes with a aluminum arm. And the special order ones maybe come with galvanized steel.
I've actually never seen one of these here, the yardlights and powerbracket style fixtures are much more common here.
