Another Restore find, here's a CGE gold label 2x F40 ballast that I got with a NOS fluorescent striplight from April 1973. It's the same one as this one is Vince's collection.
I tested it today, and it's series like my other two lamp RS ballasts.
The fixture it came from is pretty well made too the metal's a lot thicker and the lampholders are nice GE ones.
I wonder how long this fixture would last if it was put in service today.
EDIT: I tested it for 45 mins this time and I found that this CGE ballast is pretty nice, it's quieter than some of my new Advances and runs pretty cool too.
Interesting that this is also rated for two 30w lamps as well. I don't see that very often, though I had seen some newer Advances like that. I wonder if these still run 40w at full power...or at least around 380 ma or so.
J/K, I'm sure you prefer keeping this amazing NOS ballast LOL.
Interestingly, this strip light is the same brand as the one my older single lamp CGE ballast came from.
J/K LOL
EDIT: I would have a question for you concerning that ballast. Is it a series or parallel ballast?
