That's cool...do you have an ACTUAL picture of this sort of setup?!
basilicon89   [Apr 02, 2011 at 06:21 AM]
Yes. I live in Michigan these were all over in some style or the other. Most counties used SE-PAC driven Eagle software that had the normal flash rate. Only Oakland County used custom software like this.

I'll get pics later

yeah these are everywhere here, common as dirt LOL , ill take some pics

even though i dont live in Michigan, but TexDOT use Michigan Left turn on US 281 Pass Loop 1604 but the red dont flash
before it was a jam, so they come up with a low cost but effective transprtation improvement saving 20 mins of travel time
of not being stuck behind left turners

what is thAt grey box? we have them here on the lines too, do you have any pics of the lights inside the left turn illuminated panels? (I'm certain they are MV )
basilicon89   [Aug 23, 2012 at 01:49 AM]
Grey box is a splice box that feeds in cables from the cabinet, and ties them in with the signal cables. I dont have pics of the inside of the case signs. I have seen them both mecury vapor and flourescent. The new ones are LED, or empty...with the front having sheeting on it

Hey Aaron, here's a pic I found of the insides of a double sided fluorescent case sign. The fluorescent models use either 18" or 24" HO lamps.

the ones we use in MI are Mecury Vapor. I actually have of picture of me holding one I will upload later but the lights and equipment were pulled from it.

In case you guys are still wondering what's inside those cube shaped MV signs here's a couple of pics I grabbed off eBay of one

Exterior:

Inside, I believe they used 250w MV. Anyways you can see the lamp, diffuser screen, and the F-Can ballast for it.

wow that is so cool! thanks joe!
how much is this going for on ebay?
joe_347V   [Nov 26, 2012 at 03:25 AM]
No problem, here's the page where I got the pictures from. Looks like I remembered wrong and it was some other auction site instead of eBay.
xelareverse   [Dec 12, 2015 at 01:50 AM]
