Nice. I wasn't around when mercury vapor dominated. I was born in '98, so I grew up with HPS. My grandparents' street in Pawtucket, RI still has all MV cobraheads with no HPS changeouts on the whole street.
I was born in '93 and I also grew with HPS. But I've always been fascinated by those mercury vapour lamps. Plus they were sticking out of all the HPS lamps, making them even more noticeable.
I grew up mostly in MV land until around 1988. My old neighborhood had ALL MV and most of the county was mostly MV. Also in mid to late 1980s there was higher demand on HPS. When I moved in 1988 my (brand new neighnorhood) had both HPS and MV....MV in mostly townhouse areas and HPS on single family houses and main road of neighborhood...but in my bedroom window I had a nice view of 8 posttops....7 of them were MV and 1 was HPS! They were all Cooper Traditionare UTH! 175 watt MV and 100 watt HPS
