Located in Hampton, NH next pole up from the OV-25 I took earlier. This fixture is 400 watt MV wired at 120 volts. This light replaced a 400 watt MV M-400A2 in 2007 right before the MV ban.
*UPDATE* upon arriving here this morning on my vacation here in New Hampshire, I've noticed this light has been replaced with a 250 watt HPS M-250R2. Updated photo to come.
IMO, why not wait until they switch to LEDs? I mean, the LED changeover is already beginning in some places. You figure the HPS takeover started in the 70s and really took off in the 90s and sorta wrapped up in the mid 2000s so the LED changeover is starting in the 2010s and will probably really take off in the 2030s and will probably wrap up in the mid 2040s. of course that doesn't mean every light will be replaced by LED since not every light today hase been replaced by HPS but the major mass-replacements have ultimatly died down.
BTW, i heard the last 400W MV GE fixtures really had MH ballasts. not sure about the others or how true it is...
