Nice find. Real Japanese flood light bulb. This bulb may be slightly overdrive with our 120 Volts main line.

Thanks Robert you are right about the voltage difference. Ok to use on the good old variac here in UK. Sorry for not getting back sooner.

Yeah, some companies also make what's called a buck/boost transformer that basically steps down 120v to 100v and vice versa.

Have not seen these or the UK versions but they are probably auto wound to save space
