Let me guess, that's a Sylvania lamp.
gailgrove   [Jan 05, 2011 at 09:37 PM]
Yep it is.
Tmcdllr   [Jan 06, 2011 at 12:45 AM]
How would I have ever known that with no etch...lol
gailgrove   [Jan 06, 2011 at 08:19 PM]
Hmm, could it be the crooked arc tube Laughing I still think of Sylvania's as good quality though Smile
Form109   [Jan 06, 2011 at 11:59 PM]
is that a standard ceeling fixture?.....so the socket isn't pulse rated?....which would be against code technically huh?
Tmcdllr   [Jan 07, 2011 at 05:49 AM]
^^I agree.

^I believe you are correct. But does 35 watts really need an ignitor? I had a 35 watt jelly jar fixture that I could have sworn had just the ballast only and never had a problem with it.
gailgrove   [Jan 07, 2011 at 08:27 PM]
Devonte, yes its a ceiling fixture but this doesn't even come to meeting code as it is (at least its a ceramic socket), and yes this still does have an ignitor (built in to the ballast) but I'm not at all worried about it Razz

Hmm, it looks like the ignitor on this ballast is still fairly separate compared to the Advance ballasts.
gailgrove   [Feb 18, 2012 at 06:18 PM]
Yeah, my 70 watt M250R2 has that same type of Advance ballast as a replacement, they are pretty integrated compared to these.
streetlight98   [Feb 18, 2012 at 06:21 PM]
Why do they make internal ignitor ballasts? When the starter dies, you pretty much either have to rewire it or replace it. Neutral

I think it's to save space and avoid the hassle of wiring in a starter too. Oh and for these if the ignitor dies just disconnect the neutral wires from it and wire in a two wire ignitor and it should work.
