I've seen the NYC repro bell shaped fixtures with electrical tapes on em...

I've seen some Model 25 FCO as well as M-250R2 tilted sideways. The slipfitter probably wasn't tightened right. Neutral
GullWhiz   [Dec 13, 2011 at 02:35 AM]
There was one AE 25 near me that was tilted! But thanks to me, and a friend, we had someone help fix it!

The tilting was getting worse and worse! I have the pics somewhere
Form109   [Dec 13, 2011 at 03:51 AM]
i remember that..
joe_347V   [Dec 13, 2011 at 05:16 AM]
I've seen a 125 tilted nearly 90 degrees before. Shocked
GullWhiz   [Dec 13, 2011 at 03:58 PM]
That's nothing! I saw an OV-12 get tilted 170 degrees!!!!! Ask FGS!
gailgrove   [Dec 13, 2011 at 08:16 PM]
There is actually a Hubbell RL FCO near where this light was on the freeway off ramp, it was out for over a year and then got relamped within the last week, now the door fell off and the fixture is at a 45 degree angle,I reported it since it is also drooping and looks like it could fall! Shocked
FGS   [Dec 13, 2011 at 08:40 PM]
I remember seeing that 170 degree angled OV-12. Shocked It was in BGE. Razz J/K It was in PepCo.

There's a light in my area that got damaged and is now dangling by the feed wires. Shocked Shocked It still works too, I'll see if I can get a pic tomorrow...
gailgrove   [Dec 31, 2011 at 01:48 AM]
You mean the entire fixture is hanging? If so I would report that NOW! Shocked
joe_347V   [Dec 31, 2011 at 02:16 AM]
Yep the entire fixture, like this. Shocked
gailgrove   [Dec 31, 2011 at 02:28 AM]
That should seriously be reported, it is a huge hazard!
joe_347V   [Dec 31, 2011 at 09:28 PM]
It's gone now they took the fixture down and now there's nothing there.
gailgrove   [Dec 31, 2011 at 09:37 PM]
Likely the emergency crew did that, I can see why they didn't put up a new fixture last night. It likely won't get fixed until Tuesday at the earliest if I had to take a guess.
streetlight98   [Dec 31, 2011 at 09:42 PM]
Shocked I've never seen that. i wonder why some linemen are afraid to turn the bolts a few more times. I always make sure my lights are sercure and tightly on the arm when I put them on my balster arms. Confused
gailgrove   [Dec 31, 2011 at 09:46 PM]
Well there is a "recommended torque" setting on the fixture instructions, if the bolts are tightened to much the housing can crack. Sometimes things fail anyways, it's possible one of the bolts broke or something like that. Poles do also vibrate a lot and we have had a bit of windy weather here lately, that could shake the fixture off. Another possibly is a car hit the pole not hard enough to knock it down, but enough to shake the fixture off.
streetlight98   [Dec 31, 2011 at 09:55 PM]
That's true. I prefer 4-bolt slipfitters for that reason. True, they take longer to install, but it pays off.
joe_347V   [Dec 31, 2011 at 11:15 PM]
I believe that was a Powerlite R37 which has a 2 bolt fitter, as for the replacement I bet it's going to be a wonderful FCO AEL 115. Rolling Eyes
streetlight98   [Dec 31, 2011 at 11:42 PM]
Aww. I could've flown there in my ninja suit and saved it. Sad Razz Laughing
joe_347V   [Jan 01, 2012 at 01:38 AM]
There's still four of them left at that intersection. Razz
