Unistyle 1000? I never even knew there was such a thing!
GullWhiz   [Nov 16, 2011 at 04:16 PM]
They are rare!

Yeah, I've only ever seen a Unistyle 175 and 400. Is there a Unidoor 1000 as well?

I've only seen one McGraw Edison Unistyle 1000 in service but sadly it was replaced a few years ago with a 400 watt high pressure sodium streetlight.

I've only seen a cluster of five Unistyle 1000s at a parking lot, they're HPS though.

I have seen one Unistyle 1000 in the parking lot of an independent market.

@ Gil; I think this was still used along with the Unidoor 175 and 400. i'm not positive, but I don't think they ever designed a Unidoor 1000.....

There are three Unistyle 1000s in Jamestown, New York in a parking lot off of NY 394 at Hopkins St.
Antstar85   [Nov 17, 2011 at 01:39 AM]
I have never seen a unistyle 1000 in person.
TiCoune66   [Nov 17, 2011 at 01:43 AM]
Those lamps may be 700W BT-46, unless my eyesight is lame LOL.
NiMo   [Mar 08, 2012 at 11:19 PM]
Nope, 1000 watt BT-56.

These all got replaced with LED fixtures in this parking lot, a long time ago. So these old fixtures are looong gone. xD

I've never seen this before, or photographed one of these before. With your permission, I'd like this added to the Line Materials category on the Wikipedia article History of Street Lighting In The United States if you're willing to grant permission to use this picture or have a higher res picture.
