Sorry Ian, you are wrong on this one, this actually David F is right...it is an OVX with the feature of a Swing-down Ballast Bridge.....
LilCinnamon   [Aug 31, 2011 at 06:58 PM]
Why is the reflector the original OV-15 though? It's not what you find on an OVX.. Unless they made reflectors that way before.
GullWhiz   [Aug 31, 2011 at 07:00 PM]
Dude....look at the ballast closely...it has the word "Cooper" on it...
Antstar85   [Aug 31, 2011 at 07:07 PM]
That is totally an OVX
streetlight98   [Aug 31, 2011 at 09:24 PM]
Reflectors can be replaced you know. Wink
LilCinnamon   [Nov 22, 2011 at 08:41 AM]
I should of known this was an OVX. xD The screw holding in the reflector was a dead giveaway. OVS's had the little clip under the latch holding it in like my L-150.

This must be a REALLY early OVX. One of the first ones out.

BTW, what is the Swing-Down ballast bridge?
GullWhiz   [Nov 22, 2011 at 01:19 PM]
It's a feature when you can easily remove and replace a ballast by simply unscrewing one screw and the whole ballast assembly swings out and then unhook the ballast tray off the hidge and you put the new ballast hinge........it's kinda like a powerdoor.....note the cap on the picture is attached to the ballast assembly and not the body.....

Notice it has a connector, so you can unplug the old ballast and plug the new replacement ballast!

From what I know, its only available on OVD, OVF, OVY and OVX......
LilCinnamon   [Nov 22, 2011 at 07:06 PM]
This is the older version of the ballast "Tray" that is in the current fixtures? Or is the OVD/OVF/OVY have a different feature?
gailgrove   [Nov 22, 2011 at 09:31 PM]
This is the same ballast tray the current fixtures have as an option.
LilCinnamon   [Dec 21, 2011 at 10:40 PM]
A little different design though. The trays were more trays, not linear like this version. But basically same thing, yes.
joe_347V   [Dec 21, 2011 at 11:43 PM]
Odd it has a vertically mounted cap, most cobraheads I know of horizontally mount their caps.
LilCinnamon   [Feb 20, 2012 at 01:02 AM]
This was an FCO due to the reflector being this way.
Form109   [Feb 20, 2012 at 02:14 AM]
maybe so...no way to know for sure, for all we know it could have had a Drop lense.
streetlight98   [Feb 20, 2012 at 02:22 AM]
Being what way?
LilCinnamon   [Feb 20, 2012 at 03:07 AM]
By the reflector having a different design. The FCO reflectors had the older OV-15 design while the drop lens has what we all know. At least that's what I think, because all three of my OVX's are made in August 2001 and the two FCO ones have this reflector while the drop lens one had the other reflector.
Form109   [Feb 20, 2012 at 03:14 AM]
@Michael were you refering to my comment or someone elses?
streetlight98   [Feb 20, 2012 at 03:22 AM]
@ Ian, maybe.
@ Devonte; i was referring to Ian's comment, "This was an FCO due to the reflector being this way."
GullWhiz   [Feb 20, 2012 at 01:51 PM]
I don't really agree, we have thousands and thousands of FCO OVX AND OVZ. (OVX owned by state of MD and OVZ owned by BGE) and they do have the "Mickey Mouse ears design" on the reflectors.......
LilCinnamon   [Feb 20, 2012 at 01:56 PM]
Yeah now I see that, but the thing is why do my two FCO OVX have the other reflector? The reflector that is on this picture. It had to be an option...
streetlight98   [Feb 20, 2012 at 06:29 PM]
This reflector might deliver a different light distribution than the other style. Idea
