Hey, this is right on the state line! So you see the MassDOT trussarms in the foreground and the Ngrid maintained RIDOT lights in the back. Also note the two sign bridges of different styles? MassDOT tends to use the style on the left.

Yep! You can also tell it's a MASSDOT installation because of the vibration reducers on the truss poles and the overhead sign mast. RIDOT/NGrid doesn't use those. The little white sign under the RI-owned overhead sign is owned by MA though. The RI overhead sign mast is OLD. RIDOT repalced all their overhead signs but the structures are old.

Hmm, I know the MTO still has some 60s era rounded truss sign masts left. Most of the signs have been replaced or have been overlaid with new sheeting in the 90s. I think the oldest freeway signs here with the original sign face are from the metric conversion in the late 70s.

These lights are no more, replaced by LEDs. Poles are still there (I'm talking about the trusses, davits are still 400W HPS)

...and the RIDOT owned and operated davit poles were LED'ed in 2016.
