Stylish, isn't it? The metal bucket refractor adds to the overall stylishness of the modern wooden pole, the classy wiring job and the use of the metal halide "retrofit" bulb for the mercury vapor fixture.
Nahh that there is the IDA approved model yardlight, note the full cutoff reflector and the MH lamp to make them ignore the fact that a MV ballast is inside.
Actually, this is the IDA approved model! Actually I sorta like this, even though it's pretty cheesy looking. And the MH lamp, for as long as it will work, makes it brighter with better color rendering!
Nice thing about MH lamps is, when they stop making MV lamps we can still retrofit our fixtures as long as they still make probe-start MH.
i got a MH lamp to light on my yardblaster too. HX and reactor ballasts are the easiest for the MH to start on it seems for whatever reason that may be.
Yeah my used sylvania metalarc has trouble starting on my GE M-400. I have to keep flicking the powerstrip on and off a bunch of times to get it to start but once it does it's BRIGHT!!!
