Sylvania 58w 5' 4000k
Went to a "Bud's Warehouse" (which is kinda like a ReStore) today...hardly ever go there because its not convenient at all. Plus traffic is such a clusterfuck

I wandered around looking at the few rows of boring old lights & electric junk. Didn't see anything I was really interested in, and figured it was a wasted trip, but noticed a whole stack of unopened cases of fluorescents at the end of a plumbing aisle...
At first I just thought they all cases of boring 3500k Sylvania 5' 40w lamps, with a couple cases of Altos & Sylvania 6-footers mixed in. So I walked away & wandered the store a bit, then decided to give the stack of fluorescents another look before leaving.
I noticed one of the Sylvania cases was open and a lamp's sleeve said "Preheat" :shock  Then I had to take a closer look & pull a lamp out to see its etch, and was like: "wait, some of these are the UK type 58w lamps".

Ofcourse I had to get one at that point (although I've got no need for a full case, for $5 I'm not gonna complain )

Wow!
Yeah traffic can be really annoying...but it sounds like it was worth it!
And this just goes to show how looking at the WHOLE store can turn up things you would otherwise miss. But usually I'm wandering around trying to pick between the best of all sorts of cool stuff!
It'd be fun to meet with other Lighting Gallery members someplace and go on a ReStore run, wouldn't it? Laughing But then we'd be fighting over everything! Laughing

Yeah these, and the 6 footers (will post a pic later) atleast kinda made that trip worth it Smile

There's a new ReStore that opened here earlier this month.. I really want to check that one out eventually, but its another that is deff not convenient (probably similar in distance to where I went today)

There've been times I've had to decide between a couple different things "this or that"... "this or that".. when finding stuff at those places. Sometimes based on its all I can carry, other times being all I have cash for...

It would be cool if there was a meetup even if it was just that a meetup, but doing a "raid the ReStore" could be fun too, especially if it was at a time they had lots of good stuff in stock to buy. Ofcourse it'd be hard since everyone is spread out over long distances Laughing

I know one member here (Lil'Cinnamon) lives in Colorado like me, and I think not even as far as that store I went to...
