Mouth Open, Ready To Strike...
Streetlight pole that got knocked downrecently (most likely hit by a vehicle, but coulda been the pole had partially rotted out & the wind took it). But no doubt somehow related to the storm we had move through here last Wednesday (also note the large dead tree broken off behind the fence).
It looks like an open mouth on a snake .LOL.

Did you take the fixture?
xmaslightguy   [Mar 17, 2019 at 07:36 PM]
@lightingfan8902:
Nope.. its right there in someone's front yard, plus there's enough traffic on that road that you'd deff be seen in the amount of time it'd take to remove.

I must go down to check this out, I would have taken it if it were me back in the day, but I stopped doing that a long time ago. Looks like an M-250 R1.

@Lil'Cinnamon:
It was still there as of yesterday afternoon when I took these pic's(love the way that zoomed-in turned out), and the last knock-down I saw in that general area layed around for a few weeks, so wouldn't be surprised if its still there Laughing
If I had reason to go out, I'd of gone by at night just to see if it still lights...

I was thinking it looked GE, but wasn't sure which model!

This light and pole are gone now. No replacement installed.
Lil'Cinnamon   [Mar 30, 2019 at 05:30 AM]
I know I drove by it earlier today and saw that it was gone, but I did see there was a light on the ground (crews laid it on the ground in favor of upgrading power lines or whatever) on Quincy between Sheridan and Wadworth, I could check it out but A, It's a model 25, and there literally is not a place to park.

@Lil'Cinnamon:
I think it disappeared Wednesday (not positive though), but it was gone Thursday morning when I went by that spot.

Interesting on that Model 25 along Quincy...was it just sitting there with noone around? or were they working the lines at that time? Too bad I didn't see this post earlier or I coulda driven by it & maybe gotten a pic from the dash-cam Laughing (as I was at that ReStore on Quincy today, wouldn't have even been out of the way for me to have gone along that section of Quincy)

Update: There is now some small flags (& paint markings) on that corner, looks like they've marked utility lines, so I guess a new pole will be going up soon.

It's about time. Been a whole month almost. Laughing

Update: This was replaced on April 19th. I was shocked to see a new HPS fixture instead of LED.

Also note that dead tree the wind took down behind the fence (that I mentioned in the original description)...

It is actually possible that did have something to do with the demise of this light. There was a line going from the pole you see there to this one (obviously removed for safety reasons). I'm wondering if the tree may have snagged hold of that line when it came down & pulled a weakened pole down with it.

Very well could be. Looks like the pole might have had some base rot.
