Bet they don't light as evenly as fluorescent would,1500LM isn't much compared to 3000LM from an F40T12/841

No they are great I love them, They replaced 32w T8.

That's nice how expensive are they?
traffic light1   [Apr 10, 2014 at 10:23 PM]
They are $140 for 12 and $12 for one They are on eBay. You are right 2 40w T12 is much more light than 2 T8 32w. I see what you mean how is 1500lm LED the same light as the T8 32w Question

F32T8s get 2800 lumens so these LEDs would be dimmer but you'd get better CRI from them. I'd personally like these better if they had a white coating on the inside of the tube so they look like fluorescent lamps and less alien-like lol. Unfortunately I see LED T8 tubes and T5HO fluorescents taking over the market soon enough. Right now the Gov is focused on getting rid of T12s and once that's done they'll probably jump right on to T8 fluorescents. Rolling Eyes

I put the LEDs in and they look and work good. I don't like the coating they are LED and I am proud to show them off Very Happy to me the coating is like putting 1000w MV lamp in a home it is strange. Some places will start to go LED here. Would the coating make the light more even?
streetlight98   [Apr 11, 2014 at 01:42 AM]
Yes, the coating would get rid of the bright and dull spots and make it more even. The coating would also cut back on the awful glare from LEDs. If these lamps are used in fixture that have lenses on them them it's not a big deal but in a strip light or a turret fixture these lamps can be pretty glarey. 7eleven uses LEDs similar to these and they're around the brightness of T8 fluorescents but the area looks like it's being lit by a disco ball lol.

VHO Is here to stay it will be the last T12 to go, I want to see if you all know why. Cool I used the LEDs in open fixtures and it is good. They are very good the light is even but the walls and floors are now too bright Cool The ceiling is very dark Laughing

The TTC here is refitting some of the subway cars with these LED tubes, replacing F72T12 slimlines. Don't really care much for the LED tubes, they are too directional and leave the ceiling too dark.

It is my standard of living or fluorescent. I saved my dad $2,500 a year. Cool Why would they put LEDs in subway cars?

These could also have a battery backup inside the tube for emergency use in 24/7 lighting or in the ballast where switched.

That is cool.

I saw LED 4ft retrofit in a ship's museum in San Diego to light display cases.

Now that is a cool spot to put them. Walmart close to me has taken 2 lamps out of ever light fixture. It is... strange
