Eh I guess we can agree to disagree. I only dislike LEDs because the LED fixtures are hideous and the distribution is poor. LPS street lights look ugly too and the color is very poor. It's hard to distribute the light from them too because they're so long like fluorescent lamps.

LPS ugly Sad be careful of what you say we would not want the LPS fixtures to cry Crying or Very sad
I want to put owls and turtle before us, It is the right thing to do.

Well LED fixtures are ugly too. Razz They're just inanimate objects they don't have feelings. Neutral I wouldn't ever call a person ugly. I just think they should design better looking LPS street light fixtures. Like make low wattage LPS lights cobraheads instead of what they have out there.

Iceland and Poland have that. They double up the lamps. I know they have no feelings it is supposed to be funny Laughing at the end of the day the true test will be does 90w LPS light the lot at my dads building. I hope so Embarrassed If not I will have to say sorry to you. Embarrassed and then you will say we need a 1000w MV wide-lite?

Can you post a pic of it mounted and lit?
traffic light1   [May 10, 2014 at 12:13 PM]
Yes I can, but it will be put up in July.

The Cape is now 70% LED last night I was VERY mad they are 150w and all they put is a small spot on the ground dim as dim can get LM per w is only 80 12,000LM and they were to replace 400w HPS! LPS is the best 90w gets you 18,000lm so we are more for less South cape are not happy they will have a meeting on this soon. and the 6500K Is VERY bad. my dad was very mad too. He likes LPS he says the lower 1700k is better to see people in because we did a test on his drive way and it showed just that.

I'm sure the 90W LPS will do okay. If you want it really bright you'll need more fixtures. the color temperature doesn't make it easier or harder to see, it's the CRI. Generally, the higher the color temperature the higher the CRI with fluorescent lamps but for other lamp types it's different. MV and MH have similar color temperatures but MH has much better CRI so it's easier to see under. 6500K is pretty blue but 4100K is a nice comfy medium and 3000K is very much like old incandescent street lights which creates a nice atmosphere in old towns (though the fixtures don't look to great lol)

BTW, I was in Plymouth, MA this weekend. I camped in the Myles Standish State Forest. And they have two solar powered 18W LPS shoebox lights! Now that's great for the earth! Solar power! Smile

WOW that is just like Poland! Nice! They are LPS-E, I think. I was just at the Cape. Cool.

I took a picture too and I'll post it for you within a couple days. i saw two really old incandescent street lights too but they didn't work. Crying or Very sad They were in the camp i stayed. One was disconnected and the other must have been burned out. I didn't see the LPS at night though. I would have loved to since I've never seen LPS upclose before. Only those LPS security lights on the storage building next to I-95 at Jefferson Blvd.
traffic light1   [May 11, 2014 at 11:27 PM]
The LPS fixtures at my house is most likely the ones closest to you?
streetlight98   [May 12, 2014 at 01:15 AM]
They might be the same distance as the ones on Jefferson Blvd. Have you seen them? They're here.
traffic light1   [May 12, 2014 at 01:34 AM]
That was the first I have seen them.
streetlight98   [May 12, 2014 at 01:59 AM]
Oh wow i figured you already knew where all the LPS is. Well you know know! You'll have to take a drive by there at night! You can see them from the highway. There are a couple of HPS spot replacements. i think those are 18W ITT security lights. Notice how the reflector part is stretched lower for the LPS lamp? Those were made back in the 80s probably. LPS never caught on for residential security lighting though because of the color.
traffic light1   [May 12, 2014 at 02:13 AM]
35w has the reflector part stretched too. They look 35w.
streetlight98   [May 12, 2014 at 02:51 AM]
yeah they could be. I think they were made in 18-55W LPS.
traffic light1   [May 12, 2014 at 09:39 PM]
I got the light and the bulb it all looks good.
traffic light1   [May 14, 2014 at 12:00 AM]
Found lighting facts on HPS 400w gives 70lm per watt 28,000lm after 20,000h
streetlight98   [May 14, 2014 at 12:23 AM]
That's dimmer than a 250W HPS. I find that very hard to believe.
traffic light1   [May 14, 2014 at 12:40 AM]
Me too, but I trust a company to tell me the truth. Some say HPS only gets 80lm per watt.
