|
i Found Yet another Fluorescent Fixture at the Flea Market....its a Wraparound (thanks to David Lay for Clarifying that as i thought it was a Shoplight.)im Hoping Someone has Seen this one Before or Knows of it as the Label is Faded Beyond recognition...i have yet to Determine if it works or not...but it has an Oldish Advance Class P Ballast for two 40 Watt Lamps.

Did you get any fleas at the flea market?
My old house garage actually had a similar fixture, which was sold mostly in the 90s and early 2000s..I think they were available in the 80s too.....seems they don't sell them anymore I think....
even though the ballast does opperate correctly...id rather not have the thing leak tar at all seeing how the ballast has PCB's (it is from 1973)
well its been up there for some time now actually...but its not Electrically connected to anything.
You could still use the original ballast in the garage or the utility room but I would fuse it at 1A or so just as a extra precaution.
I Could Find a way to mount my LPF Advance Ballast in there but since its much shorter i would have to drill an extra hole.
by the way....why are High Power Factor Ballast's always longer than the Low Power Factor ballasts?...is there a Big Cap in there or something?
You could also try looking for ballasts at your local Habitat Restore too, since they usually sell them cheaply there or you could drill a new hole and mount the LPF ballast but most LPF F40 ballasts under run the lamps.
