End of the Fluorescent Wraparound (Missing Diffuser)
here is the End of the Wrap...showing the Ballast Cover (where the Faded Label is Visable) and the Sockets....clips for the Refractor can also be seen.
Yup that is definitely an older wraparound, and judging from the shape of the end cap, the original diffuser probably had a pointed bottom in terms of its profile shape. Not sure what pattern it had, but it may have been prismatic 12. If it wasn't prismatic 12 though, the replacement ones you can order will probably be prismatic 12. I'd probably check with a company like malcolite or something to see if they can make a replacement for you and how much it will run for.
The Flea Market had some Wrap Diffusers laying Around...but most were Yellowed...and of the Regular Rectangular Profile...though since they are Flexible they probably would have bent a little to Fit the slight Point in the Middle...where the Point in the Diffuser would be...non the less this fixture...im Fine leaving it Refractor less..but id like it to be Compelete.
This fixture likely dates to the '69-'74 range, since the ballast is Class P but does not yet list 35w energy saving lamps on the ballast label. Have you checked the date on the ballast yet?
Havent had any Sucess in Getting it out..its Stubborn alright....its held in by twoThreaded Rivets (looks Like-) with some Funky Bolt Thing Clamping the Ballast to the Fixture....ill have to get some Pliers.
use a wrench........thats why electricians have tools...and those bolt things are typical found on fluorescents....there would be a square cut out there that holds the bolts (with square shaped under the top of the bolt.
You can also try using a nut driver for those bolt things if you have one. Yours looks like the ballast is mounted using two bolts instead of the bolt and mounting flange arrangement
