So... What would be considered "New Old Stock"? Like what dates? This is 6 years old so it ain't that OLD, but I still wonder what would be considered "New Old Stock".
Well the M-400 R3's aren't made like this one anymore, they changed the to housing design and changed the door without all the power-door holes and all that, so this could e considered New Old Stock, since the M-400 R3's aren't made like this anymore.
It's STILL MADE! I was referring to Silverliners and the M400A2 more than any other lights, they are still made but nowhere not at all similar to older models.
THe M-400 A2 and M-400 R2 are just the third generation of the line that are made today, so the M-400 R2 I have (the 250 watt one) That was made in the 1990's (I think 1996) is just like the ones they make today. But I am not sure what is considered new old stock, The M-400 R3's are made different today then they were a few years ago. But I know lots of lights that were made newer than this light but have seen service for a while.
I might consider this "New Old Stock" Because that basically means that the light isn't brand NEW, it's been made years before and never before been used, I think I stop considering something "NOS" if it has been made 5 years or less.
See here. I would, for example consider this light NOS however I would NOT consider this light NOS even though I bought it three years after it was made.
@ Ian, I usually go by a 10-year mark. If it was made more then 10 years a go and never used or sold before that and has it's origional box, and factory packaging, etc, I would consider it to be NOS. This may qualify for "new overstock" though since it was probably sent to ReStore for that reason.
Yeah probably. I guess whoever bought it bought too much so they sold it to the ReStore, I am glad it is drop lens though, I never thought I would find a drop lens version. xD
I wonder who bought it in the first place... Maybe Xcel or someone? Maybe CDOT since they like using the M-400 R3 fixtures. Not so sure...
What's a wholesaler? But you guys are probably right. But at the ReStore I do notice high-bays come there all the time. At the one I got this light from there are LOTS Of high bays there! That were used and were like 277 volts or in that range...
But the ReStores here get lots of HID stuff. I mean LOTS! The one in Wheat Ridge has a lot of 250 watt HPS Lamps... A whole container full of them. Some have 400 or 200 watts mixed in but most of them are 250 watts HPS.
