100 watt HPS M-400 R3!
This is kind of odd, all four M-400 R3's at this intersection have 100 watt HPS lamps in them! That's is weird, they should of just used M-250 R2's.

150 watt HPS in an M-400 would make more sense then 100 watts, seriously! I mean this might last much longer due to better heat distribution, but why do this? Kinda overkill, and odd. But it was picture worthy. Multiple intersections were like this. Except for the one with the MH M-250 R2's.

This is really odd.

Hmm yeah interesting. Personally, i don't think 150W HPS makes any more sense than a 100W HPS inside a M-400 though since ED23.5 lamps are designed for the small cobrahead size optical assembly. I don't think the lamps would last that much longer in the M-400 than in a M-250R2 though since the M-250R2 is plenty big enough for the 100W lamp. I wonder why GE offers the M-400 in such a low wattage. The distribution would be all out of whack. i mean, look at how small that lamp it! lol. Laughing

chandler, texas uses mostly 100 W HPS Fixtures to light their streets....alot are small cobraheads but a few 100 W Medium sized cobras too. it is odd. i dont get the logic or reasoning behind it either.
