Lost vacuum..I've had similar happen. Was this running on an electronic ballast?

Then that one heck of an EOL show! Usually, the worn-out cathode does a pop, or a sizzle, but never blew out the phosphorus coating inside! And its really rare to see this! Shocked

April 1995. One of the last months these were sold in the US, in non-shatterproof versions.
