I find it interesting that the paint in front of the socket is the least burnt. Razz

Was the light rated for 60w bulbs?

Yep, believe it or not, the clear 60 watt Feit incandescent I found in it still works...it was fixed the other day

I'm surprised that the socket wiring got fried enough that it dosen't work too. Shocked

The back of the socket arced a bit when I removed the lamp...I got a really bad third degree burn when I was very young due to a shorted socket...hot and neutral were shorted from the center contact touching the outer part of the lamp base when it was relamped by me. That's why I didn't mess with it after...

Do you mean 1st degree burn? 3rd degree burns are the most severe and i think your loose feeling in that area with a 3rd degree burn since the nerves get fried too. Shocked I've gotten shocked a lot but I'm always afraid of getting shocked.

My doctor said it was third degree Rolling Eyes do I believe him? Not particularly. .. Laughing it was probably more of a second degree burn...had to go to the hospital for it. ..

If I had a dollar for everytime I've been in the hospital. ..I'd be rich....that doesn't count the one I worked at part time either! Razz
