I would think 1902 would be too early for this lamp it has the exhaust tube in the stem. The modern exhaust tube found in todays lamps came along in 1918. But there's a similar method using a L shaped exhaust tube which came earlier but not in 1902. They did have a few tipless lamps as far back as the 1880s but they used other ways.
Maybe someone else can help clarify this.
