Another fluorescent version of a normally incandescent fixture
And here is another fluorescent version of a normally incandescent fixture. This one takes a glass drum like the last ones. However, unlike the last ones, the drum on this one is held on by a central pipe spud and a cap nut rather than three screws on the side. This fixture came as preheat fluorescent as soon as I found it. I also suspect it's an older fixture because most of the parts appeared to be older. It takes a 22 watt circline and came with an Ace cool white lamp.

Good job! But dude that is not a ceiling...it's a floor......are you imagining upside down gulls?

i Like that Fixture....ive never seen a Dome with a Central Fastening Nut like that.

@Jace: LOL. I rotated the photo and took the pic with the camera upside down to show what the fixture would have looked like installed on a ceiling, but yes that is a tile floor, in my kitchen to be exact.

Form109: Glad you like it. It's a cool retro mid century looking fixture. What's even cooler is that it was already preheat fluorescent when I got it, with a 22 watt circline lamp.

It must've been converted at some point.

I've seen a stock preheat fixture just like this one before but with a white plastic drum instead of a glass one.

so have I. I call tham drum lights. My aunt and uncle have them in their house. My uncle hates them because they buzz. Each drum light has two 13w cool white PL tubes

I've seen both the circline ones with a centre mounted diffuser and twin PL ones too. I have a twin PL one that came with a pair of HPF chokes.

I like how they blink like crazy. Then one comes on shortly after the other. You can see the starters in the lamps glow.
