Sad day,
I finally got what I thought was a good vintage POWER BRACKET.....BUT NO! I found it to be hacked and missing the correct Astrodome control. so now I'll have to improvise just to see if it even works as described. Sad,sad, UPSETTING day.

Looks like it has an Astrodome PC... Neutral Looks like a nice light to me, though it needs a bath. Smile

yes it did have an astrodome unfortunately the one I have in there doesn't match the plug in the light , It's a different style. Oh well I like it. I was going to post pics of how I improvised but my batteries went dead in the camera . Maybe tomorrow. Btw this light is from July, 1965 according to the date code GA.

Ah I see. Yeah I have 20 pics to post to the LG but they have a stupid 10 pics per day limit so I have to wait until tomorrow and the next day. Rolling Eyes Yeah GA is 1965 so this is silver? Smile I think that's the only year they were silver since weren't they introduced in 1965? Or was it 1964? I know the Powr/Door cobraheads were introduced in 1966 since they were always gray.

Yep, This old dog is silver, I have a new P.E hole cover in clear coming from GE and the way I improvised with my astrodome and connection isn't bad but I'm dissapointed it not completely original.

Ahh yeah looks like it could use a new PC socket. I like the astrodome power brackets but not a fan of the astrodome cobraheads. I don't like cobraheads as much without a PC on top... BTW, is this 175W MV?
Mercuryvapor123   [Aug 10, 2014 at 01:52 AM]
No this originally had an Astrodome no socket, It just didn't come with the control so I put mine in it.The astrodome cover was not in good shape so I ordered a new one. Yes this is 175 watt MV.

I meant new cover... Embarrassed Are you sure it will fit since the new GE PC socket holes are smaller.
Mercuryvapor123   [Aug 10, 2014 at 03:02 AM]
I Hope, although I compared it to my other Power Brackets and they look to be the same, we'll see.
streetlight98   [Aug 10, 2014 at 03:00 PM]
You mean the covers or the holes are the same? In the 80s some time they switched to the smaller holes. The same time they started using the tool-free PC sockets.
Mercuryvapor123   [Aug 10, 2014 at 03:57 PM]
I measured the hole on one of my newer PB's an on the 1965 one and they are the same measurement.

Really? Neutral My M-400A2's PC hole is smaller than any of my other GEs, which all use the 2-screw type PC socket.
Mercuryvapor123   [Aug 10, 2014 at 04:26 PM]
Yep, Same size, Now I'm not sure about the cobra heads.
