25w 12v bulb with blue glass base insulator!
Any ideas on the make? I have a bunch of 12v bulbs I'll eventually photograph and post...
Also does anyone know what the rated life on these is? I'd be interested to know that...

I don't know the life but whatever the life is, it's 10x shorter on 120V lol. At first i thought this was a brass based MV lamp. I love the look of the brass base with the blue insulator.

I think you mean one bright flash...I've inadvertently screwed 12v bulbs into a 120v socket before and gotten a nice bang and bright blue flash when power was applied...

I once rigged a mini christmas light to a candelebra socket and the thing popped and the outer glass was all silver and cracked (though intact). It started smoking too. Maybe the internal lamp shunt was shortcircuting the outlet's circut? i shut it off as soon as the bulb went pop though. Laughing

I've also done destructive things like that before...
