I got these sometime this past week. They never replied to my email so i wasn't expecting them to arrive but sure enough they came at about 5:45 while we were eating supper.
I have a bunch or these. I emailed Stanley directly (use the email on their site) and tell them what you want (ie "2 IN/DO NOT ENTER decals"). They will send them for free within a week of your email but they won't reply to your email so don't expect a reply.
They're 6.5", not the 6" ones. New installations here still use 6" decals but they must be leftovers because all their new decals from them are 6.5". They're the same decals as the 6" ones, just blown up another 1/2". As you can see the words are stretched more rectangular instead of being squarer like the older 6" decals. I don't think these crack and peel like the 6" decals either. Even if they do crack and peel, they're free so just order a couple extras and replace them as they become ineffective...
I'd love to see a pic when you install the decals. what decals are you going to stick on the door?
cool! which ones did you order/are you going to use?
it's cool to have legitimate door decals that are in use in the general public even if I have no use whatsoever for them. I could go around with a bunch of "IN" decals and go sticking them on stuff since the DO NOT ENTER side is the non-stickey side on the IN decals so they'd just serve as DO NOT ENTER stickers...
Before the yellow caution decals became popular, I used to see the old pre-logo stanley decals with IN and OUT back to back. an IN decal would be placed on the two-way door and the OUT decal would be placed over the IN decal, coving both DO NOT ENTER faces, leaving IN on one side and OUT on the other. Pretty cool. Horton Automatics is the only one who ever made decals with arrows on both sides though.
I'd LOVE to get my hands on some pre-logo Stanley decals but I can't find them since they haven't been made in like 15 years. I still saw them pop up once in a while as spot replacements as late as 2007 though. There was one old pre-logo stanley decal that was spot-installed at my local Stop & Shop in 2007 and a few months later, JUST A FEW MONTHS LATER, it was removed when Stop & Shop changed their logo and installed their own decals. Those old decals were top notch and never faded, cracked, peeled, and ANYTHING and that decal was just WASTED! I don't know, it just pissed me off since i love those decals since they were literally everywhere when I was little. Now the newer stanley decals with the logo are everywhere here, since most places have upgraded their doors over the years, so the old pre-logo decals have basically disappeared. I haven't seen one in a couple years now.
