Yeah, but it's a rarity seeing a big street light dayburning. That may be either dead bugs or dirt inside that glass lens, though. I tried photographing it on the other side last week, though. It was late in the afternoon, bright and sunny, but the tree in the background was in my way. So this morning shot was better.
I heard rumors that the M-1000 and M-400 share the same top housing and just the refractor doors and reflector are different. Dunno if it's true though since I don't have an M-1000. I'd love an M-1000 but they're HUGE! And use a lot of power too. I'd want to keep mine original so I'd probably only use it for display if I had one.
I have both and the housing may be similar, but the M1000's is a bit wider and the screw hole configuration is different. That, BTW, is a mid to late 60s version.
